DSS says armed robbers hijacked it’s case file on Igboho’s aides

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday September 8, said armed robbers hijacked its case file on the fundamental rights enforcement suit that was filed

by detained associates of Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Counsel for the Department of State Service, I. Awo made the claim while appearing before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Awo told Justice Obiora Egwuatu that the case file was stolen after his colleague boarded a vehicle belonging to the One Chance operators.

The DSS counsel subsequently applied for adjournment of the case.

Recall that the 12 persons arrested at Igboho’s residence on July 1 by the DSS, had approached court to seek enforcement of their fundamental rights.

While Justice Egwuatu granted bail to the 12 detainees, the DSS released only 8 of the suspects, claiming that four of the detainees; Amudat Habitat Babatunde, Abideen Shittu, Jamiu Noah Oyetunji and Bamidele Sunday were deeply involved in Igboho’s alleged criminal activities, and were “suspected to be stockpiling arms to take over the South Western states in the country”.
