Lagos state government to completely shut down third mainland bridge on Friday

The Lagos state government has announced plans to completely close the third mainland bridge from midnight of Friday, February 26 to midnight of Saturday, 27.

The state's Commissioner for Transportation, Frederick Oladeinde, who disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday  February 24, said the 24-hour closure would enable the contractors to move the equipment used during the rehabilitation process off the bridge completely to allow both the Oworonsoki and Adeniji bound lanes open fully to traffic.

Oladeinde explained that the closure is necessary having completed the replacement of twelve expansion joints and to demobilize the superstructure of the bridge.

He appealed to motorists in the state to use alternative routes during the complete closure of the bridge.
